Microscopic Analysis
Motivation and challenges
The impressions using silicone matrices generate a large number of data that are to be clustered according to their relevance. The identification of potential parameters to successfully enable vertical cultivation, thereby facilitating the vitality of the moss, is of central importance here. In order to identify possible correlations despite the complex and diverse structures, detailed investigations are required, so that different parameters (e.g. angle or height differences) can be measured, analysed and evaluated.
Project insight and perspectives
An optical digital microscope is used for this task, which can generate static images with a particularly high depth of focus. In addition to angle, length and area measurements, microscopic analysis allows digital cross-sections and height profiles of the moulded substrates to be generated and analysed. Working with the digital microscope is a key component of substrate measurement.
